What Is Oklahoma Form 511?
Oklahoma Form 511 is used by full-year residents to file their state income tax return.
The purpose of OK Form 511 is to calculate how much state income tax you owe.
Part-year resident and nonresident filers must complete Oklahoma Form 511-NR instead of Form 511.

Who Must File Oklahoma Form 511?
According to the 2024 Form 511 instructions, full-year residents must file an Oklahoma tax return if their gross income exceeds the standard deduction plus personal exemptions claimed. For 2024, single filers must file if their gross income exceeds $7,350. Married filers must file if their gross income exceeds $14,700. Gross income generally means all income before deductions other than income specifically exempt from state taxes.
Even if your gross income is below these amounts, you may still benefit from filing. You might receive a refund for any Oklahoma state taxes withheld on your W-2, for example. You may also be eligible for the Oklahoma Earned Income Tax Credit (OK EITC), Sales Tax Relief Credit, various child-related credits, and other State of Oklahoma credits.

How do I check my Oklahoma tax refund?
To check the status of your Oklahoma 511 income tax return online, visit the Oklahoma Tax Commission website and use their Refund Status Search service. Oklahoma Tax Commission states that you could receive your refund in a couple of weeks if you e-file compared to several more weeks longer if filing on paper. Filing your income tax return online and selecting the direct deposit option is even faster.
To check the status of your Oklahoma income tax return for 2024, you will need the following information:
- Last seven digits of your Social Security Number or ITIN
- Amount of refund requested
- Zip code
