Arkansas Form AR1000F is used by full-year residents to file their state income tax return. The purpose of Form AR1000F is to calculate how much state income tax you owe. Part-year residents and nonresidents use Arkansas Form AR1000NR. The State of Arkansas discontinued the AR1000S Short Form. Who Must File Arkansas Form AR1000F?

According to the 2024 AR1000F Instructions, you must file an Arkansas tax return if your gross income exceeds the minimum amounts for your filing status. For 2024, single filers must file if their gross income is $14,266 or more. Married filers must file if their gross income is $24,058 or more. Gross income generally means all income before deductions other than income specifically exempt from state taxes.

Even if your gross income is below these amounts, you may still benefit from filing. You might receive a refund for any Arkansas state taxes withheld on your W-2, for example. You may also be eligible for the Additional Tax Credit for Qualified Individuals, Credit for Tax Paid to Another State, Credit for Child and Dependent Care Expenses, and other State of Arkansas credits.
