2010 income tax forms for IRS Federal 1040EZ, 1040A and 1040 long form filers are available for download in PDF format, free, at no cost. For most the 2010 income tax forms were due by April 18, 2011. The 2010 income tax year is January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010. If you are filing your 2010 tax forms late, remember that in most cases penalties and interest accumulate each day that you are late. Don't delay, file your 2010 income tax forms as soon as you can. Upon receipt of your 2010 tax forms, the IRS will calculate your penalty and interest amount for you. 1040EZ - Single and Joint Filers with No Dependents, US Resident

  • Filing status is single or married filing jointly.
  • You and your spouse were under age 65 and not blind at year end.
  • No dependents.
  • Taxable income less than $100,000.
  • No deductions for educator expenses, student loan interest, or tuition and fees.
  • No claimed credits for education, retirement savings, or health coverage.
  • No advance earned income credit received.
  • You can claim the earned income tax credit using this form.
  • Your earnings are from only wages, salaries, tips, taxable scholarships or grants, unemployment compensation, Alaska Permanent Fund dividends.
  • Taxable interest must be $1,500 or less.
  • If any of the above is not true, go to the 1040A next.

1040A - All Filing Statuses, No Itemized Deductions, US Resident

  • Taxable income less than $100,000.
  • Capital gain distributions but no other capital gains or losses.
  • Credits for child, education, earned income, dependent care, adoption, and retirement savings contributions.
  • Tax deductions for IRA contributions, student loan interest, educator expense or higher education tuition and fees.
  • No itemized deductions such as mortgage interest and property tax payments.
  • If your return is more complex than this, the next 1040 is the form for you.
