Missouri Income Tax Rate 2024 - 2025
Missouri state income tax rate table for the 2024 - 2025 filing season has eight income tax brackets with MO tax rates of 0%, 2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, and 4.8% for Single, Married Filing Jointly, Married Filing Separately, and Head of Household statuses. The top Missouri tax rate decreased from 4.95% last year to 4.8% this year. This continues the downward trend in the state income tax rate from a high of 6% just seven years ago. The number of tax brackets are the same as last year.
Missouri income tax rate and tax brackets shown in the table below are based on income earned between January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. Outlook for the 2025 Missouri income tax rate is to decrease further to 4.7%. This decrease is the result of legislation enacted in 2022 which allows for a decrease of 0.1% each year that revenue goals are met. The same legislation points to a top tax rate target of 4.5%.
