Missouri Income Tax Rate 2023 - 2024
Missouri state income tax rate table for the 2023 - 2024 filing season has eight income tax brackets with MO tax rates of 0%, 2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, and 4.95% for Single, Married Filing Jointly, Married Filing Separately, and Head of Household statuses. The top Missouri tax rate decreased from 5.3% last year to 4.95% this year. This continues the downward trend in the state income tax rate from a high of 6% just six years ago. The number of tax brackets also decreased from ten last year to eight this year.
Missouri income tax rate and tax brackets shown in the table below are based on income earned between January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023. Outlook for the 2024 Missouri income tax rate is to decrease further to 4.5%. The top rate decrease should reduce the number of Missouri income tax brackets to seven as the two upper brackets overlap.
