Wisconsin Form WI-Z and Form 1A Eliminated For Tax Year 2018
The State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue office has eliminated Wisconsin Form WI-Z and Wisconsin Form 1A beginning with the 2018 - 2019 income tax filing season. That means you will not find these two Wisconsin tax forms on our website or any other going forward. Resident individual taxpayers will therefore file Wisconsin Form 1 and nonresident individual taxpayers will continue to file Wisconsin Form 1NPR.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has eliminated Form 1040EZ and Form 1040A for tax year 2018. As a result, Wisconsin took the opportunity to eliminate Form WI-1A and Form WI-Z to match the federal changes. According to the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue website, most taxpayers will see no difference in preparing their Wisconsin income tax returns. Approximately 85% of Wisconsin taxpayers file their income tax forms electronically online or through approved software vendors.
The newly redesigned IRS Form 1040 has already been published along with the Form 1040 Instructions booklet for the 2018 - 2019 filing season.
